Up & Out®

College Application Readiness Program

Today’s college application is not only more complex than most job applications, it’s probably the most complex college application ever in U.S. history. The process is daunting—particularly for students who lack a knowledgeable support network from their family or private admissions counselors. PCF's Up&Out College Application Readiness program, now in its 5th year, was created to make the hopes of college a reality for these students.

The PCF Up&Out program targets primarily qualifying first-generation college applicants needing guidance in navigating the college process. The program assists with every critical component of the process including the college search, SAT prep, applications and personal essays, recommendations, scholarships, interviews, and finally deciding where to attend. Each program participant is individually supported to maximize their strengths, future career plans, and personal situations.

We continue to support these students throughout their college careers to ensure that they are guided in course decisions, financial aid issues, internships, and housing. Once a member of the PCF family, always a member.

It is time to plan what you will do once you are UP&OUT of Princeton High School. Get the help you need and be ready to apply for college.

Program meetings will be in person with the possibility of a Zoom session. Participants will need internet service and a device to access the class sessions. Students entering grade 12 in September are eligible for the program. Students will meet with course instructors to identify and prepare a plan that reflects their post-graduation goals. The six-week course will prepare students to submit applications to colleges and begin the collection of documents necessary to apply for financial aid.

The class will meet for two hours twice-weekly and students may have an optional 30-minute private or semi-private meeting with a course instructor each week as well. Throughout the school year, there will be workshops designed to prepare students to complete and submit the necessary paperwork for financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
